Job Description Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Bid/Project Manager to deliver multiple complex Bids and win contracts, utilising strong internal and external customer facing skills. The role will cover all aspects of Bid/Project Management including; Contract Status Reviews, Risk Management, Lifecycle Management and Financial Management.

You will be responsible for Bid/Project execution and delivery with emphasis on contract award and preparation for project start, achieving customer stakeholder management, cross project and product alignment, dependency management, business winning, contract capture and decision-making for the benefit of the surveillance & Protection Technologies (S&PT) Sector.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Management and overview of a series of inter-related and co-dependent external prospects
  • Schedule, cost and quality adherence
  • Dependency identification and management
  • Bid/Project Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Management of internal and external stakeholders / customers
  • Internal reporting to IPT Lead and/or Sector VP
  • Presentation at Sector and Line of Business Bid/project reviews to present summary status
  • Ensure adherence to Company's Lifecycle Management (LCM), as appropriate and tailored to suit
  • Internal Liaison with Development and Production Managers as required
  • Liaison with Functional Groups to ensure Bids/projects are appropriately resourced to achieve successful execution
  • Accountability for proposal delivery, contract award and preparation to commence contract delivery

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplined teams (Including, but not limited to - Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing and Operations)
  • Demonstrated experience to win and deliver complex programmes in a military environment
  • Demonstrated experience of winning and delivering complex export contracts
  • Demonstrate an understanding of export licensing requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strong Customer relationship skills
  • Demonstrate ability to delivery large contract proposals and win contracts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of Bid/project planning, scheduling, work package management, sub-contract management and cost control
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • SC Security Clearance, minimum

Additional Information

  • This is an office based role (2/3 days per week as required)
  • There will be the requirement for occasional travel both in the UK and abroad which may mean overnight stays
  • This role will often mean working in a challenging environment often working to a tight deadline
