Job Description:
The individual in this role will work as part of the PM Transition Team within Support and Services (S&S) helping to design, manage, and deliver the transition from the current support environment operated by the Air business to the future state-designated through the Ignition 35 activities – at the level of a support PM to PM Leads.
Experience in one or more areas of PM practice and be expected to be able to adapt and apply these practices in different circumstances and to develop these practices.
  • Will support the interface PM work between the Programme and Transformation within S&S and the central PM Transition Team
  • Will ensure that the standardised processes and toolsets/structure put in place by the PM Transition Team are applied within the P &R Team
  • Will support the Interface PM to report progress, and achievements and fulfill PM reporting accountabilities for the P & T Team, back into the PM Transition team to ensure a up co-ordinated S&S view of progress can be generated
  • Able to perform advanced project reporting & scheduling.
  • Able to undertake advanced problem solving typically based on previous experience.
  • Have a sound knowledge of Business processes and procedures.
  • Administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/ Microsoft packages and developing new IT systems skills
  • Attend on-the-job training as appropriate.
  • Support the Interface PM to manage the full project lifecycle to ensure that, over time, the needs of customers/users continue to be met and that financial and other benefits are achieved.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks to the success of the project. Applies appropriate PM methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Agrees project approach with stakeholders, and prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk, and communications plans) and tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate.
  • Consolidate expertise from multiple sources, including third-party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives. Supports and promotes the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation.
