Cyber Security Analyst / Vulnerabilty Researcher - Oxfordshire - C Programming, Vulnerabilities, Penetration Testing, Exploitation, Ethical Hacking
A Cyber Security Analyst / Vulnerability Researher with C Programming / low level / embedded software experience is required to join a large cyber security team based in Oxfordshire.
This is a great opportunity for a technical enthusiast to work in a research and development environment on a variety of cyber and technical exploitation projects.
Overview of the Cyber Security / Vulnerability Researcher
You will be testing a variety of different networks and hardware to look at ways to break the network. The technology is diverse, but there aren't tools available to test for vulnerabilities - You will need to create these hence good C Programming knowledge is essential for the role. The work you do will be varied, and 20% of every week will be spent on research. The client has a large training budget, and you will be sent to Black hat conferences all over the world as part of your training.
The role would suit a software developer with C Programming knowledge who wants to break into cyber security. Your role will include penetration testing, exploit development, ethical hacking and vulnerability research.
Key skills required
This opportunity will allow you to gain experience on a wide-range of technologies, from Windows to VxWorks with development languages including C, C++, Java and Python, differing processor architectures and bespoke real-time systems. You will be given the opportunity to use tools such as IDA Pro, Nessus, nmap, codenomicon and metasploit.
What we expect:
We are seeking security analysts with a genuine passion for cyber security.
You must have some C Programming experience
This position isn't a regular penetration testing job this will push your skills to the limits. You'll need to be able to demonstrate your ability to exploit vulnerable systems but these aren't the standard Windows target we have different architectures SPARC, MIPS, ARM and a range of custom ASICs. There probably isn't a tool for what you want to do we expect you to create one. You will be looking to crack mobile and broadband networks and all of the hardware associated with that.
Given the unique nature of the cyber security challenge all applicants must be able to obtain UK security clearance (DV standard).
