Inspiring Women in Technology

Posted on: 27/06/2017

Here at Outsource, we are proud of our diversity with 49% of our team being taken up by females. As a technical workforce solutions provider, my colleagues and I are regularly asked how we can help our customers to improve their diversity and we recently held our first Women in Tech event in London to address this balance.

As you can see, we have created a section on our website specifically for ‘Inspiring Women in Technology’. If you speak with any of your colleagues, friends or contacts who might be interested in having a look, please also direct them here, where we will be updating the blog regularly.

You’ll also see a short video clip on the website to illustrate the success of the evening.

Some alarming stats to point out:

  • Only 3% of female students would consider a career in technology as their first choice

  • Across the UK only 15% of the STEM workforce is female

  • 78% of female students can’t name a famous female working in technology!

Outsource is working with a number of female leaders to promote technical careers for women and to encourage more of the future female workforce to consider a career in what we believe to be a creative, innovative and exciting industry.

If you have any suggestions for topics for the next event, which will be in Manchester in November, we’d really love to hear about them. You can also join our Meetup group here.

Equally, if you would like to talk to us about future career opportunities, please contact a member of the Tech Women team at techwomen@outsource-uk.co.uk
