Location: Birmingham City Centre (Hybrid working)
Salary: £40,000
Contract: Full-time, permanent - Monday to Friday
Outsource UK is recruiting a Buyer to join a high-performing procurement team within a Legal services environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer to play a key role in delivering strategic procurement activity, supporting business objectives, and driving value across the supply chain.
The Role Reporting into the Head of Procurement & Finance Operations, you’ll support procurement initiatives that improve efficiency, governance, and commercial outcomes. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver compliant, value-driven procurement projects, with occasional travel and flexibility around working patterns.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be a self-motivated and commercially minded Buyer with experience purchasing indirect goods and services, confident working across a broad stakeholder base.

Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and deliver procurement projects in line with procurement policy
- Lead commercial negotiations and manage supplier selection processes with a full audit trail
- Ensure timely renewal, re-tendering, and optimisation of existing contracts
- Identify and deliver cost reduction and value improvement opportunities
- Draft RFx documentation and manage supplier evaluations
- Lead and attend supplier business review meetings
- Drive performance improvement plans with underperforming suppliers
- Develop efficient buying routes for high-volume, high-value spend
- Monitor compliance with procurement policies and relevant industry standards
- Maintain and manage the Supplier Contracts Database and Supplier Portal
You’ll be a self-motivated and commercially minded Buyer with experience purchasing indirect goods and services, confident working across a broad stakeholder base.
You’ll bring:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Experience using ERP, finance, or purchase order systems (desirable)
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with suppliers to achieve pragmatic commercial outcomes
- Experience influencing stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally
- Solid understanding of the end-to-end procurement process
- Flexibility to work outside contractual hours when required to meet deadlines
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and prioritisation skills
- MCIPS qualified or willing to work towards MCIPS (study support available)
