Overview
We’re looking for a highly skilled and motivated Lead Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of the day-to-day technical operations of our Windows Team. This is a pivotal role with real influence on operational performance and business success.
You’ll combine deep technical expertise with leadership capability, guiding a team of engineers while shaping strategic decisions through scenario planning, resource modelling, and technical insight. Whether acting as a specialist or a people leader, your impact will be felt across both operational delivery and long-term strategy.

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Windows infrastructure team
- Build a strong network of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) aligned to a client-focused delivery model
- Support project delivery, including solution design, estimation, and implementation
- Ensure adherence to SLAs by responding, resolving, or escalating incidents appropriately
- Create and maintain operational and user documentation to defined standards
- Contribute to pre-sales activities, helping scope and shape technical solutions
- Collaborate with Architects and Solution Designers to validate and recommend approaches
- Accurately assess implementation effort, cost, and resource requirements
- Ensure all team deliverables are fully documented and compliant with governance standards
- Provide regular updates to Project Management on progress and timelines

Expert knowledge of Windows infrastructure technologies and future trends
Strong experience in enterprise environments, including:
- Administration, troubleshooting, and fault resolution
- File/Print clusters
- Virtualisation technologies
- Hardware build and evaluation
- Thin client environments (desirable)
- Messaging systems (desirable)
Strong understanding of SLA-driven environments
