Overview
We are seeking an adaptable and proactive HR Generalist to join the Maritime Services HR Partner team, supporting a wide range of people-related activities across a complex, project-based and unionised environment. The role will focus on delivering high-quality operational HR support, analysing people data, enabling business change, and contributing to improved performance across the function. Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational HR advice and support to managers across the business.
- Deliver accurate, high-quality end-to-end HR services to internal customers.
- Interpret and analyse people data to identify trends, risks and improvement actions.
- Support HR projects, continuous improvement initiatives and local change activity.
- Implement people processes using tools such as SuccessFactors and support effective engagement with CoE communications and initiatives.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, process alignment and opportunities for efficiency across HR.
- Influence and coach managers in line with business priorities and best practice.
- Ensure compliance with HR processes, standards and employment policies.
- Support budgeting discussions and workforce planning in partnership with HR Leads.
- Collaborate effectively with HR Partners, CoEs and other internal stakeholders.
- Promote operational excellence by challenging inefficient practices and championing better ways of working.
- Support competitiveness by enabling high-quality people processes and continuous improvement.
- Encourage innovation through effective use of HR systems, data insights and new approaches.
- Take reasonable care for personal health and safety and comply with all SHE guidelines.
- No formal budget responsibility.
Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of HR Generalist practices and processes.
- Awareness of external HR trends and how they influence internal practices.
- Ability to deliver effective HR support in a dynamic, operational environment.
- Strong analytical capability and evidence-based decision-making.
- Skilled at influencing, partnering with stakeholders and building productive relationships.
- High levels of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
- Degree in HR or related field (Preferred).
- CIPD Associate membership or working towards (Preferred).
- Acts with integrity and professionalism, promoting fairness and ethical behaviour.
- Demonstrates collaboration, accountability and a focus on delivering value to the business.
