Hourly Rate: £30 per hour Umbrella
Duration: 12 months (with likely extension)
Working Arrangements: On-site in Peterborough (no remote/flexible working)

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our client’s team in Peterborough. This is a diverse and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to work across multiple teams, gain company-wide exposure, and continue to develop your technical career.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out a wide range of mechanical maintenance tasks in a busy facility/engine test environment.
- Supporting and servicing boilers (accreditation highly desirable).
- Reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings and schematics.
- Ensuring compliance with maintenance processes, quality objectives, and safety standards.
- Working closely with a team of 10 technicians and collaborating with wider facility teams.
- Using Microsoft Office and in-house CAT systems for reporting and maintenance tracking.
- 10 years’ experience (including NVQ) in manufacturing, maintenance, or plant equipment environments.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance processes, tools, and materials.
- Ability to work with precision while maintaining quality standards.
- NVQ Level 3 (minimum) in a relevant discipline – equivalent experience considered.
- Boiler servicing accreditation and/or facility test cell experience highly advantageous.
- Industrial or plant maintenance background preferred; food industry maintenance also considered.
