Location: Cowes (3–4 days onsite)
Rate: £60 per hour PAYE / £81.05 Umbrella

We are currently supporting BAE Systems in the search for a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-profile Radar Programme. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a secure and highly technical defence environment, contributing to the delivery of mission-critical infrastructure that underpins advanced radar capabilities.
Working within the IT Infrastructure team, you will play a key role in designing, implementing and maintaining secure network environments that support complex engineering systems across both Windows and Linux platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain secure network infrastructure supporting radar programmes
- Deploy and support Windows and Linux server environments
- Configure and manage core network protocols including TCP/IP and UDP
- Implement and maintain VLAN and WLAN architectures
- Administer subnets, switches, firewalls and routing infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams supporting radar system integration
- Ensure infrastructure solutions meet defence security and compliance standards
- Strong experience within enterprise network infrastructure environments
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux system deployment and administration
- Deep understanding of:
- TCP/IP & UDP networking
- VLAN & WLAN architecture
- Subnetting and routing
- Switches and firewall configuration
- Comfortable working within secure or highly regulated environments
- Previous experience working with BAE Systems or within the defence sector
- Exposure to engineering or defence programmes
