System Engineer
12 months
Based:  COWES (PO1) – onsite 5 days per week
Hourly Rate: £60.00 Paye or £81.05 Umbrella inside IR35
37 Hours per week
  
Overview
This is a high-impact, senior engineering role ideal for a systems thinker with deep experience in defence, aerospace, or other complex technology domains. You’ll work closely with the Radar Product System Design Authority and lead the engineering activities that turn concepts into cutting-edge capability.
  
Skills 
  • Significant experience in systems engineering for complex products—Radar, defence, or aerospace preferred
  • Deep understanding of systems design, lifecycle models (Agile, Waterfall), and architecture development
  • Skilled in tools like IBM DOORS, JIRA, and model-based systems engineering platforms
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering standards (e.g. ISO 15288, ISO 24641)
    
The Job
  • Lead system-level design and analysis for phased array Radar systems
  • Apply ISO 15288 systems engineering principles across the full engineering lifecycle
  • Manage and decompose requirements using tools like IBM DOORS Next
  • Create architectural models with CATIA Magic or Enterprise Architect
  • Plan and execute integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Support customer engagement, product evolution, and acceptance processes
  • Provide technical direction to engineering teams and act as a key decision-maker in system design reviews
