Contract: 6 Months, 37 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £67.47 Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Security Clearance: BPSS + SC + UK EYES ONLY
About the Role
BAE are looking for a Propulsion Mechanical Engineer to join our Propulsion Engineering team. In this key role, you will lead the delivery of rotor-dynamic analysis to support the design, specification, and performance assurance of propulsion systems for the next generation of Royal Navy submarines.

About the Role
BAE are looking for a Propulsion Mechanical Engineer to join our Propulsion Engineering team. In this key role, you will lead the delivery of rotor-dynamic analysis to support the design, specification, and performance assurance of propulsion systems for the next generation of Royal Navy submarines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead rotor-dynamic analysis tasks to inform equipment and system design
- Produce verification evidence to support system and equipment performance claims
- Validate models through comparison of predicted and test data at system and equipment level
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, and coaching to junior engineers
- Review and check rotor-dynamics analysis outputs and deliverables
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Proven experience in rotor-dynamic analysis and/or machine design and dynamics
- Familiarity with relevant analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, CFX, Maxwell, Shaft Designer, Dyrobes)
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, with knowledge in areas such as Rotor Dynamics, Tribology, Gear or Machine Design, Turbo Machinery, or Electrical Machine Design
- Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards it
- Industry experience in one or more of the following sectors: Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Automotive (Engine/Powertrain), Nuclear, Marine, Defence, or Aerospace
