Quality Engineer
Client: BAE Systems
Location: Glascoed, South Wales
Working Arrangements: Full-time Onsite, Monday to Thursday
Duration: 6 months
Hourly Rate: £22.69 PAYE or £30.41 Umbrella
  
The Role
We are seeking a proactive Quality Engineer to support operational compliance, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen our Quality Management System.
You will play a key role in reducing defects, supporting audits, resolving quality issues, and improving manufacturing performance within a highly regulated environment.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and ISO 9001 standards
  • Review shop floor documentation, drawings, and first-off approvals
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Monitor reject, rework, and RFT data
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce cost and improve efficiency
  • Support non-conformance and quality issue management
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to enhance QMS processes
About You
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive, nuclear, medical devices, etc.)
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certified
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident reviewing technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of Lean, 8D, RCA, and Six Sigma tools
  • Engineering qualification (Degree, HNC/HND) or equivalent experience
