Location: Team members are based across Bristol, Portsmouth, and Scotstoun, with most work conducted remotely.
Duration: 6 months
Security Clearance: BPSS
Rate: £31.29 PAYE or £42.08 Umbrella
Role Overview
Opportunity to join the Stage 1 Outfit Team supporting the Hunter Class naval programme. The role focuses on outfit and seamanship systems, including paint schemes, windows, gutters, hotel services, and general ship outfit arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
This role is not suitable for HVAC or piping specialists.

Role Overview
Opportunity to join the Stage 1 Outfit Team supporting the Hunter Class naval programme. The role focuses on outfit and seamanship systems, including paint schemes, windows, gutters, hotel services, and general ship outfit arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across contract packages, supporting engineering and programme delivery.
- Collaborate with the supply chain to ensure equipment is delivered to shipyards on schedule.
- Review ship requirements and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and health & safety standards.
- Review and produce technical documentation to ensure regulatory and design compliance.
- Support compartment layout design and ship configuration reviews.
- Contribute to design and engineering activities across both the Hunter Class and Type 26 programmes.
- Assist with clearing a significant backlog of engineering and design work.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong experience in Outfit engineering (preferred). Would consider both stage 1 and stage 2.
- Mechanical engineering backgrounds may be considered if experienced in equipment documentation and technical reviews.
- Experience working in offshore or complex engineering environments is beneficial.
- Proficiency with FORAN (preferred but not essential) and Windchill.
- Ability to work independently and contribute immediately (“hit the ground running”).
- Shipbuilding experience beneficial but not essential.
