Senior Engineer - Software - INTeACT
Contract: 6 months
Locations: New Malden, Filton, Dorchester, Portsmouth, Frimley
Hybrid: Remote with ad-hoc on-site visits (must be easily commutable; short notice possible)
Rate: £50.17 PAYE
Security: BPSS + SC in flight

Join the INTeACT New Dev team developing the next-generation, cloud-ready, modular combat management system. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll help shape and enhance the INTeACT Software Factory—an advanced DevSecOps-driven environment supporting modern software development within BAE Systems' Combat Systems Product Realisation group.

Key Responsibilities:

Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to deliver Software Factory improvements.
Design, develop and implement new solutions and capability.
Support developers with design, development and code reviews.
Assist with integration and testing of the product, including support for air-gapped environments.
Promote continuous learning, DevSecOps best practice, and high-quality engineering standards.
Collaborate across teams and coach junior developers (no line management).

Skills & Experience:

Strong background in Agile/DevSecOps software development.
Experience with CI/CD environments, automated testing, virtualisation and containerisation.
Knowledge of Terraform, Helm and Python (preferred).
Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure ideal).
Experience integrating and testing complex software products.
Confident working with third-party technologies and modern development tooling.
Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving and adaptability.
