Senior Procurement Professional – Indirect Procurement
Location: BAE Systems, Scotstoun – Hybrid
Contract: 12-month contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite
Rate: £35.00 per hour PAYE or £47.12 per hour via Umbrella (inside IR35)
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional with a strong construction and infrastructure background to play a key role in supporting major projects and delivering effective sourcing, contracting and supplier management activities.
The Role
As a Senior Procurement Professional, you will provide procurement and commercial support across assigned packages, working closely with project, commercial and operational teams to ensure procurement activities are delivered in line with programme requirements, budgets and business objectives.
You will be involved across the full procurement lifecycle, from developing tender documentation and evaluating bids through to supplier negotiations, contract award and ongoing contract management.

Please note that this role is subject to security and export control restrictions. Applicants must, as a minimum, be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. Depending on the requirements of the role, further National Security Vetting may be required.
Factors including nationality, previous nationalities and place of birth may affect eligibility for certain roles. Higher levels of security clearance may also require 5–10 years of continuous UK residency to support the vetting process.

Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end procurement activities for assigned packages, including tender preparation, tender evaluation, supplier negotiation and contract award recommendations.
- Deliver sourcing and procurement activities across infrastructure, construction and capital projects.
- Provide procurement and commercial support to project teams, ensuring activities align with programme, budget and business requirements.
- Assist with the development and implementation of effective sourcing strategies within established category and business frameworks.
- Administer and manage contracts and framework agreements, monitoring supplier performance and contractual obligations.
- Support supplier relationship management, including performance reviews, issue resolution and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to contract change management, dispute resolution and contract close-out activities.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal governance, policies and relevant external regulations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure sourcing and contracting documentation is completed to the required standard.
- Support procurement reporting, providing commercial, procurement and supplier performance data.
- Work collaboratively across project, commercial and operational functions to identify opportunities for efficiency, value creation and supply chain improvement.
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can demonstrate a strong track record within construction and infrastructure procurement.
Essential experience:
- Experience working within supply chain/procurement in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC and JCT construction contracts.
- Understanding of construction procurement approaches, techniques, processes, policies and strategies.
- Proven experience in contract management and supplier performance management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project and commercial stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Previous client-side procurement experience.
- MRICS or similar professional qualification.
- MCIPS qualification.
- Experience working within public sector or highly regulated environments.
