Rate: £500–£550 per day
Location: Southampton – hybrid
Start: ASAP
Working Pattern: Typically 1 day per week onsite, with flexibility to work once every other week where appropriate

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Analyst to join a growing Analytics & Data Science function on an initial 6-month contract.
  
This is a data and insight-heavy role, focused on using supply chain and logistics data to identify opportunities, solve operational problems and support better business decisions.
  
You'll work closely with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Logistics and Commercial teams, turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that can improve availability, optimise stock flow and enhance operational efficiency.
  
The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capability with practical operational or retail experience, allowing them to understand the wider business context behind the data and translate analysis into meaningful recommendations.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Analyse supply chain and logistics data to identify trends, opportunities, risks and areas for improvement.
• Turn complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for operational stakeholders.
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Logistics and Commercial teams to understand business challenges and support decision-making.
• Investigate and solve complex operational problems using data-driven analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve availability, stock flow and operational efficiency.
• Deliver deep-dive analysis and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
• Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations that can have measurable business impact.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-making through data and insight.
• Work collaboratively with analysts and data scientists to deliver scalable analytical solutions.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and data-driven decision-making.

  
Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience working as a Supply Chain Analyst, Data Analyst, Operations Analyst or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to analyse complex datasets and turn them into commercial/operational insights.
• Experience working with supply chain, logistics, operations or retail data.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to understand a business problem, interrogate the data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions through data.
• Strong attention to detail with a commercial and operational mindset.

  
Desirable

• Experience within retail, FMCG or a large-scale consumer-facing organisation.
• Experience across supply chain, logistics, stock, inventory or product availability.
• Experience working within an Analytics or Data Science function.
• Experience partnering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  
What They're Looking For
This isn't simply a reporting or MI role. The key focus is on insight.
They're looking for someone who can take supply chain and logistics data, understand what it means operationally, identify the story within the data and then turn that into recommendations that help the business make better decisions.
  
Someone with previous retail/operational experience who understands how supply chains work in practice would be particularly relevant.
