About the Role As the UK Technical Manager, you will:
- Lead and deliver the technical strategy for electrical product categories, driving innovation, customer satisfaction, and compliance.
- Manage and develop a team of Lead Technologists, Technologists, and Assistant Technologists.
- Collaborate with commercial, design, sourcing, and sustainability teams to bring outstanding, customer-focused products to market.
- Ensure that all new product development aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by using customer feedback, complaints, and benchmarking to enhance product quality and performance.
- Partner with global technical teams, including colleagues in Asia, to ensure production consistency and legal compliance.
- Deliver strategic product development plans and contribute to wider technical business strategies.
- Lead best practice and continuous improvement initiatives across the UK and global technical teams.
- Manage supplier performance and ensure optimal factory capabilities.
- Drive accountability across your team for new product launches, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure technical documentation, product specifications, and validation procedures are accurate and robust.
- Proven technical and manufacturing experience in electrical products.
- Deep understanding of product safety, quality, and UK regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of coaching high-performing teams.
- Commercial awareness and ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in resolving complex product issues and embedding learnings into future development cycles.
