We're seeking an experienced Technical Author Lead to support the development and revision of Maintenance Instructions for two refurbished hydroelectric power stations. Working closely with the Project Manager, customer engineering teams, and offshore technical authors, you'll lead scoping, analysis, quality assurance, and team coordination to ensure high-quality deliverables.
This role is primarily remote, with regular site visits to North Wales.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead and main contact for publications workstream
- Scope and define documentation requirements with customer engineers
- Manage offshore production teams and resolve technical queries
- Review deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and KPI adherence
- Support scheduling and milestone delivery
- Improve processes, training, and production methods
- Lead and support technical authors and illustrators
- Proven experience producing Maintenance Instructions or structured technical documentation (ideally in power generation or related engineering sector)
- Experience leading teams in a technical publications environment
- Strong knowledge of structured data and CMS platforms
- Experience with modular data and content management systems
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Engineering background (academic or practical)
