UX Designer

Job Title: Principal UX Designer
Contract – 6 Months
Location: London (Hybrid: 1–3 days in-studio per week)
Day Rate: £400–£500/day (Umbrella – Inside IR35)
  
Project Overview:
We're looking for a Principal UX Designer to join a high-profile internal tools team focused on developer-facing B2B platforms. While the project sits within a studio that develops narrative-driven games, this role is not about designing game UIs or player-facing interfaces. Instead, you'll be shaping the complex internal tooling that powers game development, similar in nature to enterprise software platforms used in financial services, insurance tech, or professional media workflows.
  
This is a great fit for someone with a strong track record designing scalable, data-rich systems and intuitive workflows for complex, technical B2B environments.
  
What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead UX strategy and design for internal tools used by engineers, designers, and developers.
• Design interaction flows, data visualizations, and feature-rich UI systems that simplify complex tasks.
• Work closely with development, product, and engineering teams to understand user needs and technical constraints.
• Translate functional requirements into user-friendly, efficient design solutions.
• Run usability testing, synthesize user feedback, and iterate on designs to reduce friction and improve clarity.
• Maintain documentation, promote UX best practices, and contribute to design system evolution.

  
What We’re Looking For:

• Senior or Principal UX Designer with demonstrable experience in complex B2B tooling e.g., dev tools, internal systems, workflow automation platforms.
• Industry background in financial services, reinsurance, enterprise SaaS, or media operations is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of technical user needs, particularly developers or system operators.
• Experience with design platforms like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Axure.
• Strong collaborator with clear communication, especially in multidisciplinary teams.
• Able to operate independently and drive projects forward in fast-moving environments.

  
Bonus Skills:

• Experience working on platforms or tools with 100s of B2B clients or integrations (e.g., re-insurance platforms, investment portals).
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine toolchains or pipelines (not required but helpful).
• Passion for clean, scalable design systems and developer efficiency.
