Principal Fire Safety Advisor – Contract (6 Months)
Location: Barrow (Hybrid) • Rate: £47.41 p/h (Inside IR35) • Hours: 37/week
BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Fire Safety Advisor to support major site developments, new builds and refurbishments. You’ll lead fire safety strategy across full building lifecycles and provide expert guidance to engineering and project teams.

Role Purpose
- Lead fire safety strategy for new and existing buildings.
- Deliver fire safety input from concept design to commissioning.
- Provide expert advice to ensure compliance and risk reduction.
- Support ongoing improvement and professional development.
- Act as fire safety SME for building projects.
- Deliver fire prevention strategies and oversee fire protection systems.
- Produce and maintain fire safety documentation.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and CDM-based audits.
- Review fire strategies, drawings and design information.
- Liaise with engineering stakeholders across the site.
- Develop detailed fire strategies for complex facilities.
- Strong experience in complex fire risk assessments.
- Skilled in developing fire strategies for new builds and existing structures.
- Understanding of high-hazard environments.
- Knowledge of BS9999, ADB and relevant standards.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fire safety engineering experience (Expected).
- STEM degree or equivalent experience (Preferred).
- Experience mentoring peers (Preferred).
