Project Management P3 Practitioner
  
Barrow-in-Furness or Sheffield
12-Month Contract
1–2 Days per Week Onsite
£21.47 per hour (PAYE) or £28.75 via umbrella
BPSS required & SC in progress – Subject to ITAR restrictions
  
The Role
  • Manage a small project or a defined work package within a larger, more complex project
  • Support a Project Manager or Head of Project in delivering project objectives
  • Contribute to P3 integration activities, ensuring processes are defined, unified and coordinated
  • Provide analysis to support leadership decision-making and direction changes
  • Potentially act as a Control Account Manager (CAM) with accountability for specific Control Accounts
  • Apply, adapt and support the development of Project Management (PM) practices across varying project environments
  • You will typically report to a Team Lead or Project Manager, operating within a structured delivery hierarchy.
Core Responsibilities
  • Produce intermediate project reporting and scheduling outputs
  • Lead a small, non-complex project or a work package of a larger programme
  • Manage the full project lifecycle to ensure customer and financial objectives are achieved
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks
  • Apply appropriate PM methodologies (predictive/plan-driven and adaptive/agile approaches)
  • Develop and maintain realistic project plans including risk, quality and communications plans
  • Track and manage stakeholder engagement
  • Support knowledge sharing and promote PM best practice within the organisation
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members where required 
Additional Accountabilities
  • Support the development and implementation of tailored PM practices
  • May supervise 1–2 team members
  • Contribute directly to team performance and delivery outcomes
  • Ensure appropriate governance and assurance processes are followed (e.g., Integrated Baseline Reviews) 
Knowledge & Experience 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management policies, processes and systems
  • Demonstrable PM experience within a professional project environment
  • Understanding of PM governance and assurance processes
  • Experience influencing and negotiating with internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of business environments, markets and customer requirements relevant to your project
  • Experience gathering and analysing information to support solution development  
Qualifications
  • University Degree or substantial practical experience
  • Recognised PM qualification (e.g. APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent professional body certification)
  • Demonstrable application of relevant PM competencies at Practitioner level
