Rate: £47.51 per hour via PAYE or £64.09 via umbrella (Inside IR35)
Security Clearance: BPSS required with SC in flight
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Communications Advisor to join the Internal Communications team, supporting the Spartan transformation programme. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Transformation, this role plays a key part in delivering communications and engagement activity that informs, inspires, and supports colleagues through business change.
Working within the Change and Engagement workstream, you will help create and deliver communications and engagement plans that enable employees across the organisation to understand, navigate, and embrace transformation initiatives aligned with the Destination 2035 strategy.
You will act as a trusted communications advisor to programme leads and senior stakeholders, ensuring change messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with the wider internal communications strategy.
Key Responsibilities
You are an experienced communications professional with a strong background in change communications within large or complex organisations. You’re confident advising senior stakeholders, translating complex information into compelling messages, and delivering communications strategies that engage employees during periods of transformation.
Knowledge & Experience

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Spartan programme leads to act as a trusted communications advisor, supporting delivery of programme objectives aligned with the Air Sector’s strategic direction.
- Develop, own, and deliver change communications and engagement plans that support programme goals and stakeholder needs.
- Create engaging and effective communication solutions to maintain strong colleague engagement throughout the transformation journey.
- Work collaboratively with the Internal Communications team and functional comms leads to ensure a joined-up and consistent approach.
- Produce high-quality communication content that is clear, motivating, and aligned to key messaging.
- Use a multi-channel communication approach, leveraging existing internal platforms and introducing innovative solutions where appropriate.
- Apply change communications methodologies to support programme success.
- Identify and track communication effectiveness metrics, adjusting strategies where needed to improve impact.
- Work closely with senior leaders and programme teams to identify priorities and provide expert guidance on best practice communications approaches.

- Proven experience delivering communications and engagement plans within high-impact change programmes.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Experience designing engagement initiatives that maintain colleague involvement and secure senior stakeholder buy-in.
- Ability to create and analyse communications metrics to measure effectiveness and refine approaches.
- Track record of working in fast-paced or ambiguous environments while managing competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly with senior leaders.
- Ability to translate complex or sensitive information into clear, concise and engaging messages.
- Strong strategic thinking and consultancy mindset when advising on communications approaches.
- Confident multi-channel communicator with experience across a range of internal communications platforms.
- Ability to challenge thinking constructively and act as a trusted communications expert within change programmes.
