Legal Council
12 Month Contract – 37 hours per week
Based:  Warton and Samlesbury
Working arrangements: 3 days on site per week
Hourly rate: £75.00 PAYE or £98.91 Umbrella inside IR35

Overview
BAE Systems is looking for a Legal Counsel to join the Air Operations team. You will act as a trusted legal partner to the business, providing clear and practical advice across complex defence programmes.
You will support high profile work across platforms such as fast jet and future air programmes. You will be part of a global legal function and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
  
  
Responsibilities
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with customers and partners
  • Providing clear legal advice that supports delivery and manages risk
  • Supporting compliance across areas such as export control, procurement and product safety
  • Identifying and managing legal risks early
  • Supporting dispute resolution and helping drive practical outcomes
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders and the wider legal team
  
Skills & Experience:
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK
  • Experience in a commercial legal environment
  • Strong technical legal knowledge with the ability to apply it in practice
  • Clear communication skills and ability to simplify complex issues
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and taking ownership
  
Clearance: Eligible for SC CLEARANCE
