Hybrid:  onsit up to 3 days per week
37 hours per week
Rate: £40.00 Paye or £53.90 Umbrella inside IR35
  
Overview
BAE Systems are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to play a key role in delivering high-value construction and infrastructure procurement programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to make an immediate impact.
  
Clearance requirement: Eligible for SC clearance and UK eyes only
  
Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high-value construction and infrastructure tender frameworks.
• Manage day-to-day procurement and ITT activities from development through to contract award.
• Develop and maintain tender documentation aligned with agreed procurement strategies.
• Create tender evaluation and assessment criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Establish KPI-driven incentive mechanisms that deliver successful project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with procurement governance, tender processes, and commercial protocols.

  
Key Skills

• Experience delivering high-value procurement or tendering activities.
• Knowledge of UK construction and infrastructure supply chains.
• Experience procuring and managing high-value NEC contracts.
• Understanding of commercial terms within construction and infrastructure projects.
• Experience in Supplier Relationship Management throughout the tender process.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within changing and sometimes ambiguous project environments.
• Collaborative, professional, and proactive approach.
