Location: Cowes
Contract Length: 6 Months
Onsite Full time
37 hours per week
Rate:  £60.00 PAYE or £81.05 Umbrella inside IR35
  
Overview
BAE Systems are seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to join a leading defence engineering programme focused on the development and enhancement of advanced radar systems.

  
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the application of Systems Engineering processes throughout the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges within advanced radar systems.
  • Conduct system design and trade off analysis to optimise system performance and capability.
  • Decompose customer and stakeholder requirements into system and subsystem requirements.
  • Manage requirements within approved toolsets such as IBM DOORS Next.
  • Produce and review system specifications and technical documentation.
  • Lead system architecture development and modelling activities using tools such as Cameo, CATIA Magic or Enterprise Architect.
  • Define system integration, verification and validation strategies.
  
Key Skills
  • Extensive Systems Engineering experience within complex engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and systems thinking.
  • Experience working to recognised standards such as ISO 15288.
  • Proven experience managing requirements using IBM DOORS Next or similar tools.
  • Experience leading large scale complex system design activities.
  • Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle models including Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience using engineering and project management tools such as JIRA.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non technical audiences.
