Encouraging Gender Diversity in the Workplace

Why is gender diversity in the workplace important?

As we all know, businesses are investing considerable resources into constructing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) strategies to align with their business objectives. This is not only the right thing to do from a moral standpoint, but it also allows businesses to attract the best talent.

At Outsource, inclusivity and diversity are integral to who we are and what we stand for. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to be the best person for a job. We identify recruitment challenges through diversity data in the sectors in which we operate.

As a follow-up to National Inclusion Week and International Equal Pay Day, we took the opportunity to collate and present the most recent ED&I data. We know that many of our clients are focussing primarily on female representation, so we looked into some insights on:

  • Gender pay gap
  • Gender diversity in the workforce
  • Gender diversity in leadership teams

After all, understanding the present state of ED&I will help you enhance your people strategy - in turn, empowering you to implement inclusive recruitment practices and create more diverse teams.

Our data shows that there is some positive change

However, there is still a long way to go before we can confidently say that our workforce is truly diverse and equitable.

Female representation in the workplace can lead to fresh perspectives and skill sets, adding value to your business. Lack of gender diversity needs to be addressed or else companies miss out on a wealth of talent and put their reputation at risk of not being an inclusive employer.

We have worked hard to start the conversation around ED&I and are committed to promoting an open and honest conversation about the need for inclusive recruitment. In doing so, you’re welcoming a change that can enhance your hiring process.

If you have already developed an ED&I strategy to promote female representation within your business, that's a great start. However, it's essential to deliver this strategy effectively to ensure it has a positive impact.

How can we help?
