Job Title: Buyer
Client: Global manufacturing company
Location: Bristol
Hourly Rate: Competitive inside IR35
Duration: 6-months
Working arrangements: Hybrid, 3 days per week on-site
  
About the Role:
As a Buyer, your mission is to ensure a consistent and sustainable supply of raw materials to meet production demands and support the sites’ production schedule. They play a key role in developing operational buying capabilities through supplier management, process improvement, and team collaboration to strengthen the department’s ability to support business needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the procurement of raw materials to ensure consistent supply aligned with production schedules.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating terms and monitoring performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, production, and commercial teams to align purchasing activities with business needs and strategic goals.
  • Support the development of operational buying processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
 
Required Experience and Skils:
  • Strong buying or procurement experience
  • Exceptional Stakeholder Management skills
  • Strong Planning, Organisational and Time Management skills
  • Strong Analytical skills with a methodical approach to Problem Solving
  • Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills, both internally and externally
  • Flexible and capable of working in a complex environment
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with internal and external customers / suppliers
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft office suite skills
  • Commercial awareness to make appropriate decisions balancing potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers
