Job Title: Charge Design Engineer
Client: BAE Systems
Location: Glascoed, Pontypool, South Wales
Working Arrangements: 3 days a week onsite 
Contract: 6-12 Months (37 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: £30 Umbrella (INSIDE IR35) TBC

Role Overview:

Join our propelling charge development team as a Charge Design Engineer. This role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and evaluating propelling charges for new munitions products and maintaining legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and evaluate propelling charges.
  • Plan, conduct, and manage trials, ensuring safe and accurate execution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to meet project timelines.
  • Contribute to quality, risk management, and lifecycle processes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Essential Requirements:
  • Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • 3+ years in the Chemical Engineering industry.
  • Experience with hazard identification and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of gun propellants and the design process.
  • Experience in mathematical modelling and systems engineering.
  • Advanced data analysis and report writing skills.
