BAE Systems is seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer – Risk & Assurance to join our growing team in Christchurch. This is an exciting opportunity to support critical Ministry of Defence (MoD) programmes within a long-established, high-performing team of over 45 engineers and specialists.

Overview
BAE Systems is seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer – Risk & Assurance to join our growing team in Christchurch. This is an exciting opportunity to support critical Ministry of Defence (MoD) programmes within a long-established, high-performing team of over 45 engineers and specialists.
Responsibilities
- Support projects in understanding and managing cyber security risk
- Collaborate with solution architects and engineers to design secure systems and implement effective security controls
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and reports
- Identify risks and support assurance/accreditation activities within the UK defence domain
- Provide cyber security advice to internal stakeholders and customers
- Ensure compliance with frameworks such as the NIST Risk Management Framework and Cyber Security Framework
- Participate in or plan CHECK/penetration testing activities
- Stay current with evolving cyber security threats, trends, and technologies
- Occasionally travel to customer sites for meetings and investigations
- Experience working with MoD policies (e.g. JSP440) and familiarity with NCSC guidance
- Experience supporting Secure by Design (SbD) projects
- Strong understanding of security risk assessment and control frameworks
- Experience applying security architecture principles in complex systems
