Lifecycle Consultant – Aftermarket (Contract)

Caterpillar is recruiting a Lifecycle Consultant – Aftermarket to support a growing pipeline of new product introductions (NPI) and lifecycle activities within the Industrial Power Systems Division (Perkins).
This role sits at the heart of engineering, product and aftermarket, focusing on ensuring products are designed, launched and managed to maximise aftermarket parts and service growth across the full lifecycle.
The role As a Lifecycle Consultant, you will lead and coordinate aftermarket deliverables across NPI and product lifecycle projects, influencing design and strategy decisions to protect and grow long‑term parts revenue.
You’ll work closely with engineering, product management, supply chain, manufacturing, quality and commercial teams, acting as the aftermarket voice throughout the lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
- Lead aftermarket activities within New Product Introduction (NPI) and product deletion projects
- Influence product design to ensure aftermarket readiness (service, repair and overhaul solutions)
- Develop and support business cases for aftermarket parts and service growth
- Drive initiatives to increase parts revenue, POPS and service levels
- Optimise lifecycle elements including parts branding, IP protection, supplier agreements and design changes
- Use data, metrics and analysis to track performance and drive continuous improvement
- Act as a key stakeholder across the business, influencing without direct authority
Essential experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within automotive, off‑highway, diesel engines or similar technical products
- Proven project management experience within NPI or product lifecycle environments
- Strong understanding of aftermarket operations, parts strategy and business cases
- Technical awareness with ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience using Teamcenter or similar PLM / engineering data management systems
- Confident communicator, able to influence engineering and commercial stakeholders
- Exposure to parts marketing, service strategy or lifecycle optimisation
- Experience within a large, global OEM environment
