Job Title: Management Accountant 
Role type: Contract (initially 6 months)

Reporting to: Head of Reporting, Planning and Projects
Location: London (with regular travel to Germany required)
Rate: Open to discussions, likely £550 per day to £650 per day but negotiable

*This role requires regular travel to Germany and fluency in German is mandatory*


Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join their Finance team based in London and Mannheim, Germany.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting, supporting financial reporting, and partnering with commercial teams to provide valuable financial insight.

This position will also support and contribute to an ongoing SAP transformation programme, helping to improve finance processes, reporting capabilities, and system efficiency across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • Accurately record revenue journals, including accrued and deferred income, during month-end close in accordance with IFRS 15
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations for all revenue-related balance sheet accounts
  • Deliver insightful P&L commentary and Budget vs Actual (BVA) analysis focused on revenue performance
  • Ensure accurate entity reporting under local GAAP and IFRS
  • Complete period-end activities in line with reporting deadlines
Analysis & Business Partnering
  • Partner with commercial and operational teams to provide financial insight and performance analysis
  • Conduct regular financial reviews with department managers
  • Prepare revenue forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Perform detailed analysis of revenue streams to support strategic decision-making
Systems & Transformation
  • Support and actively contribute to the organisation’s SAP transformation programme
  • Help improve finance processes, reporting quality, and system efficiency
  • Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen financial controls
Compliance & Audit
  • Maintain strong internal controls over revenue processes
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist Finance management with projects and ad-hoc duties as required
  • Ensure compliance with company health, safety, security and environmental policies (COMAH requirements)
  • Promote safe working practices and report any risks or incidents
Essential Requirements Qualifications
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
Experience
  • Experience in period-end close and financial reporting
  • Experience working with SAP, including involvement in an SAP transformation, implementation, or optimisation programme
  • Experience in revenue accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
Language
  • Fluent German (mandatory)
  • Strong English communication skills
Travel Requirements
  • Regular travel to Germany is required as part of this role.
