Manufacturing Controls Engineer
Location: Desford
Contract: 18 months (likely to extend)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Up to £34 per hour + 20% shift uplift (paid for all hours)
Shift Pattern: Monday–Wednesday 16:30–02:30, Thursday 16:30–02:00
Working Arrangements: Fully site-based (no remote working).
You’ll be part of a 7-person shift team focused on maintaining and improving automated production systems, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring smooth and safe operation across the manufacturing site.

What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and resolve production issues using Siemens PLC/HMI software.
- Work with Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC systems to uplift and standardise legacy system assets.
- Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting and fault resolution.
- Implement and maintain safe control processes and automation standards.
- Contribute to projects improving system reliability and performance.
What We’re Looking For
Top Skills:
- Strong systems diagnostics and fault-finding ability.
- Proven experience with Siemens PLC/HMI software (S7 experience highly desirable).
- Hands-on experience using Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC software to modernise and standardise legacy systems.
- Ideally from a maintenance or manufacturing engineering background.
- Experience in assembly automation or automotive manufacturing is highly beneficial.
- Qualifications are welcome, but practical experience will be equally valued.
