Client: BAE Systems
Location: Barrow in Furness (Hybrid)
Contract: 12 Months, 37 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £67.47 Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Security Clearance: BPSS + SC + UK EYES ONLY
Responsibilities
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, integration and through-life support of mechanical systems and equipment on complex maritime platforms. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams to help turn requirements into robust, safe, and maintainable solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the specification, design, analysis and verification of mechanical systems and components.
- Produce and review technical documentation (e.g., calculations, reports, drawings) to appropriate engineering standards.
- Support build, test and commissioning activities with clear problem-solving and attention to safety and quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, operations, supply chain and assurance.
