About the Role
You’ll join the Corporate Risk Team for a fixed-term period of 12 months. Your work will span a wide range of dynamic risk landscapes, from climate adaptation and infrastructure investment to regulatory strategy and long-term business planning.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Act as the main contact for risk on the 2027–33 business plan (SRC27)
- Identify, assess, and analyse key risks and opportunities
- Use or interpret Monte Carlo risk analysis (e.g. @Risk) to support decision-making
- Support and advise specific business areas on risk management
- Build strong, trust-based relationships across teams
- Promote a positive risk culture and embed best practices
- Prepare clear risk reports for senior leaders and governance groups
- Support external risk reporting in the Annual Report
- Provide assurance and constructive challenge to improve risk management
- Educated to degree level and ideally holding a relevant qualification in risk or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in practical risk management, with an excellent understanding of both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Strong communication and influencing skills—whether you’re facilitating a risk workshop, presenting insights, or drafting reports.
- Experience coaching or supporting others in a collaborative team setting.
- An analytical mindset, with the ability to both dive into technical detail and simplify complex issues for a broad audience.
