Test Technician
Location: Peterborough
Pay Rate: £26.82 Umbrella per hour
Contract Length: 12-Month Rolling Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Fully onsite, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30

Key Responsibilities

Support engineers with prototype builds, testing, and data collection.
Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly, measurement, and inspection activities.
Perform electrical safety checks and diagnostics using test and calibration tools.
Operate test bed software and interpret test plans and results.
Identify and report product or build issues, supporting continuous improvement.
Work with logistics and suppliers to source and manage components.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Completed Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent HNC/HND).
Strong hands-on experience in engine, powertrain, or system testing.
Knowledge of test bed operation, diagnostics, and data logging.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Full UK driving licence and valid passport (for occasional travel).

Desirable Experience

Experience with electric or hybrid systems and high-voltage components.
Knowledge of wiring, hydraulics, and fabrication.
Understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
