BAE Systems is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer (Electrical – Control & Instrumentation) to provide senior technical leadership within a safety-critical environment. You will act as a technical/design authority for assigned sub-systems or LRUs and support delivery across the full engineering lifecycle.

The Role

You will act as a technical/design authority for assigned sub-systems or LRUs and support delivery across the full engineering lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and review design requirements and engineering estimates
- Act as Engineering/Technical Authority for Electrical C&I systems
- Undertake, verify and sign off engineering designs
- Define qualification and assurance hold points through build, test and commissioning
- Provide technical leadership and direction to engineers and small teams
- Support safety cases, certification and compliance activities
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to meet programme requirements
- Degree qualified (BEng/MEng) or equivalent experience
- Strong Electrical Engineering background with C&I focus
- Experience operating in regulated, safety-critical environments
- Proven ability to lead technically and assure complex designs
